Introductor Post

  • I am from Marion County WV.  I went to North Marion High School and graduated in 2008.  I am currently teaching at Barrackville Middle, 7th/8th Grade Math. I also work on the weekends at Colasessano's as a Manager.  I am very active in my church, specifically youth.
  • Here is a short youtube video that would highlight some key features of Literacy in the 21st century.

Here is an interesting clip I found when I googled "jokes about literacy"

  • I want to gain useful knowledge about using digital tools in the classroom.  I would like to use the tools provided to be able to teach Math to students in different ways that can address the multiple learning needs.

  1. Love your news clipping! Can you imagine what its literacy program was like before it improved, lol. Scary . . .

  2. I've seen this post as well! It made me laugh. My friends in journalism share these a lot. They speak volumes. Unfortunately, I've probably been guilty of blunders in my writing on a number of occasions. And, I can't blame new literacies for teaching me bad habits. I'm pre-new literacies!

  4. Ha! That news clipping is funny! I used to love the "headlines" on the Jay Leno Show. Does he still do that? Happy to have a class with you!

  6. Yay Barrackville!! I'm glad to hear you got a job there. It's a great school, and I miss it!
I like your comic to poke fun at mistakes in literacy. I'll be honest, my mind did autocorrect. I had to read to a second time to catch it! :)

  7. Hi Ernest. My uncle shares that name with you (just a small fact). I think it is awesome that you are so involved in your church. I need to be. You are a busy person; I hope you do well in the course.
